Marathon Update

2010 Golf Marathon

We had a poor turn-out for our event: only 8 players! But the good news is those eight players helped us raise almost $7,000, bringing our two year total to almost $25,000! Not to bad. I will say this, it was one of the most fun days I have spent on a golf course in many years. There were some amazing shots, some very funny jokes and situations, good prizes and food. Thanks to all who helped with the event, especially to my friend Tom Ash who helped me with the project this year.

You have probably listened to me preach about how important the Ager Golf Course is to our community (and it is) in so many more ways than just being a place to play golf. Children are growing up and being molded into tomorrows adults here.

This page will always be a work in progress so check back for updates periodically for more information on the 3rd annual Jim Ager Memorial Golf Marathon later this year.

Jim Ager Golf Marathon

Over the last two years a small group of dedicated individuals and local merchants have teamed together to raise almost $25,000! I wish we could of and I think we should of done better, but it's not bad for a bunch of guys who didn't have any idea what they were doing when this idea was hatched in the winter of 2008. Our goal is to replace a worn out and crippled irrigation system at the Ager. This is a crucial step towards the Ager being self sufficient and being here for your children's children in the future. A new irrigation system which would allow us to not buy water any more would save us tens of thousands of dollars annually. We need approximately $80,000 to finish the project - so, we are almost a third of the way there with what we have raised in the last two years. Please, please, we need help with this event in many areas. Stop by and talk with us about opportunities to serve.
